Fall fruits and vegetables, as well as foods from pastured animals, depend upon a full season of healthy soil and dedicated farmers. We certainly appreciate that farmers work season-long to bring our community the healthiest foods. Toast the success of our summer season, which made the incoming fall so delicious, with a glass of Merchant's Daughter Ciderworks hard cider, or craft sangria from Manor Sangria. Gather some artisanal cheeses and bread, summer sweet corn, fall squash and crisp apples for your week's menu. With beautiful weather predicted, fire up the grill, invite some friends over, and savor this first weekend of fall meals.

As of 8/27, all trash cans now highlight that shoppers can keep the Market clean and green by walking their waste items to a NEW zero waste station (next to Pickle Licious). This new program at the Pleasantville Farmers Market uses a similar approach to that seen at the Pleasantville Music Festival. At the Market's waste station, high school volunteers assist shoppers in sorting items into three bins (compostable food scraps, recyclable items, and trash). The Village of Pleasantville supports this program by collecting sorted items at the end of each market day (the Village has an ongoing food scrap program for residents). Please participate in this effort so we can see it succeed!
